The Sideway Chair is a chair which idea is combination of two chair type, a lounge chair and study desk chair. Its armrests can be adjusted and form a temporary backrest and footrest as well as providing extra space to user.

Concept & Inspiration:

Can a chair provide two sitting positions (normal seating and reclining) without increasing its size? Most of the medium size chair can only provide one sitting position while the chair can provide reclining position is usually big in size. Therefore, Sideway Chair is the fusion of medium size chair and lounge chair and it is inspired from the position when people lean on sofa. Sideway Chair featured armrests that can rotate and form a temporary backrest or footrest. Together with the original seat base, the temporary backrest and footrest can form a lounge chair, which user can recline when he need. This chair can be type of study desk chair or office chair, hence specially target on student or office worker as many of them need a temporary rest but almost hard to find a suitable place for nap while working. Therefore, the solution is to rest on chair, and a reclining chair is the best choice of chair for resting purpose.
