Zombie Mouse: A Visual Communication Lesson Production

Zombie Mouse is a project I did in visual communication class for HND program in art and design. Zomblick is a PC mouse applied with zombie skin and wound effect. It is colored red as its color psychology tells the audience that it is eager for brain, and also it represent the bloody feeling of a zombie. Its real idea is to advice computer user not to facing a computer for long period while also it could become a cool collection of computer product. Zomblick wire is in red and black in color, red is dominant because it wants to represent the eager of a zombie. The following will be the full story on how I did it.

1) Task 1: Identify The Subject Matter
My subject matter is zombie, so I had to find a way to create a visual effect that symbolize a zombie. Zombie skin effect in deep meaning is the effect of decay, rot and broken. It gives the feeling of disgusting, aging and terrify. Zombie is somehow associate with horror, darkness, it represent evil, darkness and the eager of blood. Zombie is also related to Halloween, as most of the time, people like to disguise into zombie during Halloween event.  Zombie skin is always in pale color in people mind, most of the zombie in movie using pale white color as the skin color of zombie. There is also zombie in green or blue color; however most of them appeared in game or cartoon. Their skins are normally come along with wound or cut, blood and strong visual of blood vein

2) Task 2: Method Of Zombie Skin Synthesis
The following is the picture of the effect of zombie skin I tried to create via different kind of material used and technique.

Task 3: Zombie Mouse Workout
I picked the way of making a zombie skin as the third image above. At first, prepare a PC mouse, spray the USB connection wire with red color.

Paint the zombie skin color on fancy paper( A kind of paper with naturally form texture) and left it dry.

Cut out the shapes that needed to apply on PC mouse from the colored fancy paper and glue them on mouse. After it dry, create a zombie wound on the side of the mouse.

After it is done, apply mat lacquer on the product to enhance color and prevent color loss. After it was dried, and a zombie mouse is ready to release.
(*note: This is just for sharing my experiences)
